Mrs Lisa Dinning, Teaching Yrs 3/4
Kia ora koutou
My name is Lisa Dinning and I am currently teaching the amazing and talented children in the Year 3 and 4 class. I have a passion for literacy and the arts, and the importance of children developing their independence. I have been teaching for 19 years and have also taught Reading Recovery.
I have lived in the valley for the past five years with my wonderful husband and three children, who attend the local college.
In my spare time I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends, caring for the animals on my farm and breeding kune kune pigs. |

Miss Lorraine Bowman - Room 4, teaching Years 5-8
My name is Lorraine Bowman. While I was born in Taumarunui ans spent a bulk of my life in Auckland, country living has always been in the blood, in spite of my urban existence. After a few false starts I was finally able to move to Waikite Valley in August of 2007, and have not has a moment's regret leaving 'the big smoke.'
I own two golden retriever dogs, Gus and Archie, and take great pleasure in spending quality time roaming the hills with my boys to improve their fitness, and mine, to work with them and train them to do the job which they were breed - retrieving birds. |
| Teacher
Mrs Denise Bluck - Room 2, teaching Year 2
I am married with two adult children who live in Wellington. I live in town and enjoy the 20 minute drive into the Valley every day, especially during autumn and spring. I have worked at Waikite Valley School for a number of years and love the family atmosphere that goes with the school. It is great seeing the children of all ages working, playing, helping and supporting each other at break time and during whole school activities. This family atmosphere extends to the staff where everyone works together to support each other in time of need professionally and personally.
When I am not at school my passions are walking, biking and most of all-travelling! I have been fortunate enough to travel to most of New Zealand as well as many different countries enjoying many experiences and meeting great people. |

I have taught previously at Waikite Valley School for sixteen years. It is good to be back teaching in the Year 1 class for 2011. I look forward to sharing the learning adventures of my students.
While away from teaching I returned to study and completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2009.
I live in neighbouring Waimangu on a dry stock farm and continue to breed coloured polwarth sheep.
I am involved with Creative Fibre (NZSWWS) and spin, felt and dye with my own woollen fibre. |
